What is buy here pay here?
Buy here pay here means the dealership is also the lender. You pick your car and make your payments to Advantage Auto Sales, not a bank. That lets us approve people banks turn down.
Can I get a car with bad credit?
Yes. At Advantage Auto Sales you can’t be turned down for bad credit. We look at your situation today, not your past credit history.
Can I get a car with no credit history?
Yes. First-time buyers and people with no credit are welcome. Bring proof of income and we’ll work out a plan.
Can I get a car after a repossession or bankruptcy?
Yes. A past repossession or bankruptcy doesn’t rule you out. Decisions are made by real people at the dealership who look at your current job and budget, not your credit history.
Do you report to the credit bureau?
Yes. Advantage Auto Sales reports to the credit bureau, so on-time payments can help rebuild your credit and qualify you for conventional financing later.
Is there a bank involved in the approval?
No. There are no banks in the decision. Our team makes the call right here at the dealership.
Do you accept co-signers?
Yes, we accept co-signers. Call your nearest location to find out what your co-signer will need to bring.

What do I need to buy a car?
A job, a valid driver’s license, a phone and a down payment. With those, you can often drive a car home the same day.
How much is the down payment?
Down payments are kept low and depend on the vehicle you choose. Call your nearest location for an exact amount.
Can I apply online?
Yes. Fill out the online application in a few minutes and a team member will contact you.
Can I drive home the same day?
Often, yes. If you bring everything you need, most customers can drive their car home the day they buy.
Payments
How often do I make payments?
Payments are designed around your payroll schedule, so they line up with the days you get paid.
Can I pay online?
Yes. Customers can make payments any time on our online payment page.
Vehicles
What kind of cars do you sell?
Used cars, trucks, SUVs and vans, model year 2007 and newer. Every vehicle is serviced and inspected before it’s sold. See current inventory.
Do you take trade-ins?
Yes, we accept trade-ins. Bring your vehicle to any of our three locations.
Do your cars come with a warranty?
No. All vehicles are sold as-is, with no warranty. We recommend having your own mechanic look over any vehicle before you buy it.
Can I buy a car online?
No. Prices are listed online so you can shop ahead, but purchases are completed in person at one of our three locations.
What fees are added to the price?
Each listing shows the vehicle price, a doc fee and an electronic filing fee. Taxes, license and title fees are additional and vary by transaction.
Locations
Where are you located and when are you open?
We have three Central Illinois lots: 1525 West Market St., Bloomington; 1215 Court St., Pekin; and 4405 Frontage Rd., Peru. Hours are Monday–Friday 9am–6pm and Saturday 9am–4pm.
Do I have to live near one of your lots?
No. If you live in Illinois and have provable income, you’ll be considered, no matter which part of the state you’re in.
